During this session learn how Ph.D. programs view the “ideal” candidate; how admissions committees assess applicants on a number of important dimensions and gain important insights on how the successful applicant approaches each component of the application.

Do you feel conflicted about managing the demands of life while pursuing a Ph.D.? This session aims to delve into the day-to-day challenges of juggling life responsibilities with the demands of a doctoral program. The focus is on helping those who may feel torn between managing family obligations, leaving behind a career, or relocating to a new city for several years to pursue a Ph.D. During the session, panelists will share their personal experiences of obtaining a doctorate degree and provide practical strategies for balancing the demands of a doctoral program with other aspects of life.
