(all attendees) In contrast to the applications, you completed for college and other graduate degree programs, applying to a Ph.D. program is different in a number of important ways. During this session learn how Ph.D. programs view the “ideal” candidate; how admissions committees assess applicants on a number of important dimensions and gain important insights on how the successful applicant approaches each component of the application.

The focus is on helping those who may feel torn between managing family obligations, leaving behind a career, or relocating to a new city for several years to pursue a Ph.D. During the session, panelists will share their personal experiences of obtaining a doctorate degree and provide practical strategies for balancing the demands of a doctoral program with other aspects of life.
